FIELD: optical elements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical elements, in particular to compact elements for focusing and collecting laser radiation, and can be used in the development of small-size fiber-optic sensors of the heterodyne-interferometer (PDV) technique for recording the striker velocity during shock-wave experiments. The present optical fiber device with side input-output of radiation includes a reflective element formed at the end portion of the optical fiber of the sensor by polishing and making the fiber end tilt to the optical axis, and the cladding of the optical fiber functions as a collecting lens. In this case, the end portion of the optical fiber additionally includes a focusing element formed by shaping the inclined surface to a spherical shape, the diameter of which exceeds the diameter of the core of the optical fiber by 40…1000 times.
EFFECT: several-fold decrease in the radiation power losses when entering the fiber and the possibility of setting the required focal length for the outgoing radiation.
