METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MULTI-ELEMENT ANALYSIS BASED ON NEUTRON ACTIVATION, AS WELL AS APPLICATION Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC G01N23/222

Abstract RU 2751586 C2

FIELD: neutron analysis.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for multi-element analysis based on neutron activation. The essence of the invention consists in the generation of fast neutrons with an energy in the range from 10 keV to 20 MeV; irradiation of the sample with neutrons; measurement of gamma radiation emitted by the irradiated sample to determine at least one element of the sample. According to the present invention, the sample is irradiated in non-pulsed and continuous manner, the measurement takes place during irradiation, at least instantaneous or both instantaneous and delayed gamma radiation is measured and evaluated to determine at least one element, the sample is divided into separate segments, and the measurement takes place using a collimator, and the neutron flux is determined with spatial resolution and with energy resolution inside the corresponding segment (P1, P2, Pn) of the sample.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of extended and flexible multi-element analysis based on neutron activation.
