FIELD: two shaped blanks centering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for centering two shaped blanks, in particular rails, in a resistance butt welding machine. On each of the abutting rails with the help of electromagnets, a manipulator with distance sensors is tightly installed, which is measured in the area of the rolling surface of the heads of the rails to be welded, as well as in the area of the surfaces of the left and right-side faces. The pairs of sensors are located on the manipulators centrally symmetrically, and the displacement value for the horizontal axis in each pair of centrally symmetric sensors is taken as the error signal. Correction of the position of clamping the ends of the rails to be welded is carried out using servo mechanisms by means of their vertical and horizontal movement according to the mismatch signal. Preferably, the distance sensors in pairs are mutually perpendicular. Optical or magnetic type sensors can be used.
EFFECT: increasing the speed and accuracy of rail alignment before butt welding in a resistance welding machine.
