SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to heating the smoking material. A heating element (30) is proposed for use in a device (100) for heating a smoking material in order to vaporize at least one component of the smoking material. The heating element (30) is made of a heating material that can be heated due to the penetration of a varying magnetic field. The first and second sections (30a, 30b) of the heating element (30) have different respective heat capacities. Also proposed a device (100) for heating the smoking material in order to vaporize at least one component of the smoking material, the device (100) comprising such a heating element (30). Additionally, an article (3) is described for use with a device (100) for heating a smoking material to vaporize at least one component of a smoking material, wherein the article (3) comprises such a heating element (30), a system (1000) and a method for heating smoking material.
