FIELD: textiles.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a denim fabric used for clothing (1). The fabric consists of weft threads (4) and warp threads (6). At least one of the warp and weft threads comprises at least 10% of lyocell fibres (8) or consists thereof. The resulting material combines high mechanical durability with excellent softness, smoothness and shine. The denim according to the present invention is also suitable for bleaching. The denim according to the present invention constitutes a new class of denim complementing the existing cotton denims and denims with a silk component.

EFFECT: creation of denim fabric, suitable for bleaching and combining high mechanical durability with excellent softness, smoothness and shine.
