FIELD: flame retardant lyocell filaments.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to flame retardant lyocell filaments, as well as to a method for the manufacture and use of flame retardant filaments. The flame retardant filament contains a fire retardant substance based on compounds containing nitrogen and phosphorus and cellulose, and is characterized in that the filament is a lyocell filament in which the amount of the flame retardant substance is in the range of 10 to 40 mass%, and in that the flame retardant filament has an average dry strength of at least 22 cN/tex and an average wet strength of at least 11 cN/tex. The method for manufacturing a flame retardant filament includes obtaining a composition containing wood pulp, NMMO, water and a flame retardant, and a spinning solution for making filaments, in which the amount of flame retardant and wood pulp in the spinning solution is in the range from 12 to 25 wt.% of the spinning solution, and the spinning speed is from 250 to 750 m/min.

EFFECT: flame retardant lyocell filament of the invention is used to make yarn, webs and textiles that meet high quality standards for strength and dimensional stability.
