FIELD: experimental aerodynamics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental aerodynamics, in particular, to piston gas-dynamic installations. The installation contains a barrel fixed to the foundation with a free piston placed in it and plungers installed at the ends of the barrel connected by a movable platform, a high-pressure cylinder and a prechamber connected to a nozzle, a model gas source connected to the barrel cavity. In the side wall of the barrel channels are made, one of which connects the barrel cavity with a high-pressure cylinder and is equipped with a shut-off valve, and the other - the barrel cavity with a prechamber and is equipped with a check valve controlled by a pneumatic cylinder. A device for regulating the relative position of the plungers in the barrel is introduced into the installation.
EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of wide variation of its operating modes, parameters of the model flow and the duration of the experiment.
