FIELD: image data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of image processing and optical character recognition. The claimed methodology for preparing sets of photos for machine analysis for personal identification of animals by face is characterised by the fact that animals are photographed in close-up: the full face and partially the neck, wherein the faces of the animals are placed in focus, the photographs are taken from different angles - the main angles: full-face, left, right. At least 30 photographs are taken from each animal, divided between all cameras, smartphones and camera angles; the photos are taken in a cycle: first photos of all animals using one camera, then using another one; images are formed in a good lighting, with correct colour rendering; the exposure is adjusted according to the body (face) of the animal, photographs are taken with a shutter priority of at least 1/125 s. For exposure metering and focusing, a central single-point measurement is used; for each animal, the identification number and name thereof are recorded for all photos; the resulting photos are stored on a data storage medium in a digital format in a machine-readable form.
EFFECT: creation of compact and efficient datasets providing a possibility of advancing the training of neural networks, increasing the generalising ability and stability of operation of neural networks.
