SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the regeneration of waste ammonia water and the extraction of mercaptans, in which waste ammonia water saturated with sulfur compounds is supplied to the upper part of the distillation column, where, while maintaining a constant temperature at the top of the column from 70 to 100°C and a pressure of 0.7-1.5 MPa, sulfur compounds are separated, to obtain purified ammonia water and a vapor-gas output product containing mercaptans, ammonia and water, in this case, the vapor-gas output product is cooled and mercaptans are isolated at a temperature of 40 to 60°C, followed by the supply of the formed water phase to the distillation column as irrigation, and the purified ammonia water is cooled and mixed with gaseous or liquid ammonia or concentrated ammonia water until a working concentration of at least 25% by weight of ammonia is obtained.

EFFECT: creation of a simple, effective and reliable method for the regeneration of spent ammonia water saturated with sulfur compounds, which makes it possible to extract mercaptans in a separate product stream.
