FIELD: wastewater treatment plants.
SUBSTANCE: radial sedimentation tank belongs to the area of wastewater treatment plants. The radial sump contains a sludge removal system, which is a set of sections made in the form of single cells located over the entire surface of the sump bottom around the distribution device. Each unit cell is a hollow geometric figure in the form of a truncated pyramid or truncated cone, the upper base of which is directed to the bottom of the sump and is equipped with an intake neck, the lower base is open and located no higher than the height of the settling zone of the radial sump, and the cell walls form an angle with the bottom of the radial sump not less than 50°. The intake neck of each cell is connected to a branch in the form of a pipeline, which, in its turn, is connected to a common outlet pipeline through an intermediate pipeline of a larger diameter, equipped with a valve with the ability to adjust the flow rate of the removed medium.
EFFECT: increasing efficiency of sludge removal without the use of moving parts of machines and mechanisms.
