SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electronic device and a control method in accordance with the movement of a control body. The electronic device contains: a detection unit made with the possibility to detect the movement operation when touching the working surface; a display control unit made with the possibility to identify the selected position on the display; and a control unit made with the possibility to perform control so that the selected position is moved in response to the fact that the movement value of the touch position during the movement operation detected by the detection unit exceeds the threshold value. If the movement operation is performed in the first direction, the selected position is moved in the direction corresponding to the first direction, in response to the fact that the movement value during the movement operation exceeds the first threshold value. If the movement operation is performed in the second direction, the selected position is moved in the direction corresponding to the second direction, in response to the fact that the movement value during the movement operation exceeds the second threshold value, which is less than the first threshold value. When the detection unit detects a movement operation with a specific movement value in the first direction, the selected position is moved in the direction corresponding to the first direction by the first movement value. In the case when the detection unit detects a movement operation with a specific movement value in the second direction, the selected position is moved in the direction corresponding to the second direction by a second movement value that is greater than the first movement value.

EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the efficiency of the movement operation.
