SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the grapevine industry. The method for protection of grapevine plants from freezing includes producing and sampling gravilen cubes previously used in cultivation of cucumbers, planting grape seedlings in pre-moistened gravilen cubes, digging planting holes with a digger, planting vegetative seedlings into a hole, wherein 10 kg of peat + 40 grams of Green-GO 8-16-24+10 are placed under the seedling in order to protect the grapevine plants from freezing and improve the growing conditions of plants, wherein the peat together with gravilen form a warm-keeping cavity used to create an insulating intermediate layer of gravilen, laid around the stem of the seedling, on the root stem and the roots, and also used to capture vaporous moisture rising from the ground waters, pulled by the peat and gravilen into the root area, and the thermal insulation properties of gravilen in the winter period reduce the rate of freezing of the root stem and the roots of the grape vine, protecting them from freezing.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to preserve the root system and stem under conditions of wintering, to improve the growing conditions of plants.
