FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring devices, namely viscometers with a falling ball, and can be used to measure the viscosity of a liquid, in particular oil or oil-water emulsion, in laboratory conditions. A ball viscometer containing a measuring chamber with a transparent measuring tube placed inside it, designed to be filled with the liquid under study, a ball and a means of registering the position of the ball in the said tube, represented by at least one video recording device, while the measuring chamber is connected to a horizontal shaft capable of rotating around its longitudinal axis, and the ball is selected from a set of several balls, each of which has a different density and diameter, at the same time, at least one viewing hole is made in one of the walls of the measuring chamber, providing access to the internal space of the measuring chamber for the video recording device, each video recording device is mounted on a bracket fixed on one of the walls of the chamber, the measuring chamber is equipped with a front and background illumination of the measuring tube.
EFFECT: extension of the working range of the viscometer.
