SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for using a tank unit for degassing polymer powder. A method is proposed for operating a tank unit for degassing polymer powder, which is polyolefin powder, including a hopper having a main vertical cylinder and a funnel-shaped part on the lower part of the cylinder, and a pipe connected to the funnel-shaped part for discharging polymer powder, through which polymer powder is discharged from the funnel-shaped part, and polymer powder contained in the hopper occupies less than 45% of the hopper volume and passes through the tank unit for degassing polymer powder as fluidized material, wherein at least one of the following is additionally performed in the method: i) polymer powder is discharged from the funnel-shaped part and recirculated back into the hopper, wherein the recirculation rate per hour of polymer powder is at least 30% of the amount of polymer powder in the hopper; and ii) purge gas is supplied to the hopper through the pipe for discharging polymer powder or through an inlet located on the funnel-shaped part at the height of less than half the height of the funnel-shaped part from its lower end. A method for polymerization of olefins using the tank unit for degassing by the proposed method is also proposed.

EFFECT: technical result is that the proposed method allows one to improve the degree of polymer purification.
