FIELD: mineral extraction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of extraction of mineral raw materials by flotation, namely, to a method and device for extracting hydrophobic particles from pulp consisting of water, hydrophobic particles and a hydrophilic component. Pulp is exposed to gas flow to ensure that bubbles are attached to hydrophobic particles. In general, pulp flows vertically through a container at a speed that ensures gas retention in pulp of at least 30% to maintain flow with gas bubbles without a pulp-foam dividing line, so that part of water from pulp, together with entrained gas bubbles that are attached to hydrophobic particles, flows out of the container, and the hydrophilic component remains in the container. Water from pulp and gas bubbles attached to hydrophobic particles that flow through the container are drained and collected for enrichment. Part of the hydrophilic component is extracted as tailings for disposal or subsequent enrichment.
EFFECT: invention provides a reduction to a minimum or exclusion of mineral losses during extraction.
