DEVICE FOR COOLING A SELF-BURNING ANODE OF ALUMINUM ELECTROLYZER Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC C25C3/12

Abstract RU 2756676 C1

FIELD: cooling devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for cooling a self-baking anode of an aluminum electrolyzer with an upper current lead. The device contains metal heat dissipating elements fixed in the upper part of the anode casing of the electrolyzer, partially immersed in the lower ends into the anode mass and consisting of longitudinally and transversely oriented central longitudinal ribs, and made in the form of a rectangle or trapezoid, while the central longitudinal rib is made with holes. The effect is achieved by equalization of the anode temperature field due to the redistribution of heat from the central part to the periphery and a decrease in the temperature of the anode surface, a decrease in the height of the sintering cone of the central part of the anode, including near the conductive pins to increase the blocking layer of the anode from the anode mass, and a decrease in the anode temperature near the conductive pins.

EFFECT: decrease in the temperature of the anode surface and a decrease in the height of the sintering cone of the central part of the anode, including near the conductive pins to increase the blocking layer of the anode from the anode mass.
