SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of shipbuilding, namely to berthing equipment for automated mooring of crewed and non-crewed vessels and to a method of mooring vessels. The mooring apparatus with a rotating mechanism, intended for automatic gripping and rigid fixation of the mooring end of the vessel, equipped with a rotating mechanism, an electric engine, an accumulator, solar panels, a control unit, is attached by one end to the mooring anchor by means of a buoy rope. The electric motor, after receiving a command from the control unit controlling the operation of all auxiliary systems, and by means of a transfer mechanism, rotates the disks with grips secured thereon. The central disk has grips located in a mirrored position relative to the other disks and rotates in the opposite direction from the external disks. A vertically lowered mooring end with a weight or a tight knot located at the end, upon entering the area of multidirectionally rotating disks with grips is pushed thereby to the centre of the apparatus and is fixed upon reaching the walls of the disks. The rotation of the disks stops.

EFFECT: method for mooring is simplified.
