SUBSTANCE: invention relates to information technologies and can be used to control the integrity of data in storage systems based on the application of cryptographic hash functions to protected data blocks under restrictions on the allowable resource overheads. The goal is achieved by representing the data block M in the form of a three-dimensional matrix of the k-th order W=[Mijr], to which the hash function is applied according to the rules for constructing geometric codes, which makes it possible to increase the detecting ability when monitoring data integrity under conditions of restrictions on permissible resource overheads, due to more connections between data blocks to be protected and hash codes placed in a certain way in a three-dimensional data cube.

EFFECT: increase in the detecting ability under conditions of restrictions on the permissible resource overheads.
