FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to information technologies and can be used to control the integrity of information in data storage systems based on the application of cryptographic hash functions to protected data blocks in the conditions of destructive influences of an attacker and the environment. The goal is achieved by representing a data block M with fixed-length subblocks M100,…, Mk00, M010,…, M0k0, M001,…, M00k, to which the hash function is applied according to the rules of constructing the Pascal’s pyramid, which makes it possible to detect and localize errors that lead to a violation of the integrity of several data subblocks located on different side edges of the pyramid.
EFFECT: increase in the detection ability and localization of errors that lead to a violation of the integrity of several sub-blocks of data, in the conditions of destructive influences of the attacker and the environment.
