FIELD: radio location.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in radio location and radio navigation systems for determining the location of objects. In the multi-positional range measuring radio location system, during the mutual movement of the receiving and transmitting positions and targets, at each position of the system, probing signals are emitted, the signals emitted by the position and reflected from the target are received, the distance from the position to the target is measured by the received signals. The radial velocities of the target are therein measured at each position, the signals emitted by other positions and reflected from the target are received, the received signals are divided according to attribution thereof to the emitting position, the sums of ranges and the rates of change thereof from the position to the target and from the target to other positions are measured by the received signals. The rectangular coordinates of the location of each position, the rates of change of the rectangular coordinates of each position are then determined and the signals corresponding to the measured values of ranges, radial velocities, sums and ranges and the rate of change thereof, the rectangular coordinates of the location of each position and the rate of change thereof are transmitted to the central processing unit, wherein the updated values of ranges and radial velocities are calculated relative to each position. The rectangular coordinates of the targets and the rates of change thereof are then determined.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the spatial coordinates of the target and the rate of change thereof.
