SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drilling equipment. The double-piston pneumatic hammer includes a body with longitudinal channels and two coaxially located cylindrical cavities separated by a divider with holes, a hollow and a solid pistons located inside the cylindrical cavities, a striker installed coaxially with the pistons, and an air distribution unit. The air distribution unit includes a valve box with an inlet, a seat, and an air duct, and a valve made in the form of a triangular or square plate, installed inside the box with a gap. Two holes are made in the body of the pneumatic hammer: one exhaust radial hole in the central part of the cylindrical cavity of the area of the solid piston, and the second axial hole between the inner cavity of the valve box and the cylindrical cavity of the area of the solid piston.

EFFECT: structure and manufacture are simplified, reliability of operation is increased, weight and size of the apparatus are reduced.
