FIELD: mining industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of downhole seismic exploration and can be used to isolate vertically oriented physical and geological inhomogeneities of a rock mass in the near-wellbore space. When conducting downhole seismic exploration, refracted (head) waves are taken as a useful signal, time corrections are introduced for the position of the excitation point, and seismic recordings from the excitation points located in the well from the cover of the refractive formation to the surface are summed up. A total seismogram is obtained containing an amplified refracted and suppressed direct and reflected waves, on which the hodographs of the refracted wave and refracted-reflected waves formed at the vertical and sub-vertical acoustic boundaries are distinguished. Based on the comparison of the hodographs and the values of the apparent velocities, the position of the acoustic boundaries, their angle of inclination and the range of depth expansion within the interval from the surface to the refractive boundary are determined.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of localization of the desired vertical or sub-vertical boundaries, determining the position of their exit to the surface (or the projection of such an exit), determining the angle of inclination and the depth range.
