SUBSTANCE: lifting of fishing gear is carried out through an opening or hatch in the part of the hull facing the open sea. The hole or hatch is located in the waterline area of the fishing vessel. To receive at least part of the catch, a vertical cage is provided, which stretches from the level below the lower edge of the hole or hatch to the deck above the upper edge of the hole or hatch, a lifting device for transporting the catch to the deck, a means for moving the catch to the lifting device in the form of a channel. The lifting device is located in a shaft separated from the vertical cage. In the wall or bulkhead between the vertical cage and the shaft there is a lockable hole or hatch, with devices for opening and closing. The bottom of the shaft is located at a lower level than the lower part of the closed hole or hatch in the wall or bulkhead and the water level in the vertical tank. There is a device for lowering the water level in the shaft.
