FIELD: autonomous vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to autonomous vehicles, in particular to a system and method for providing transportation by means of an autonomous or human-controlled vehicle. The system for providing transportation contains a communication interface for communication across one or more networks, with transport service users’ computer devices, memory storing a set of commands, one or more processors using a set of commands to receive via one or more networks, a request for transportation from the user’s computer device, and determination, at least partially based on the information specified in the request for transportation, and the estimated cost of synchronization when executing a transportation request using an autonomous vehicle, whether to execute a transportation request using an autonomous vehicle, and the estimated cost of synchronization includes probabilistic determinations as to whether an autonomous vehicle may encounter a delay or deviation from the route when executing a transportation request.
EFFECT: increase in safety by providing the possibility of calculating the degree of reliability of using an autonomous or human-controlled vehicle for the route chosen by the user.
