FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aircraft engineering, in particular, to designs of aerodynamic models (ADM) of aerial vehicles (AV) intended for testing in wind tunnels (WT). The method for researching and optimising the AV configuration consists in conducting the research in the WT step by step, adjusting the modules forming the outer line of the AV. The ADM assembly allows for testing in different WTs and on different measuring apparatuses. The ADM assembly is made modular, allowing for research without any elements of the aerodynamic configuration, e.g., without the vertical tail, as well as prompt modification of the line-forming details if the results of the experimental research in the WT are negative.
EFFECT: proposed AV ADM is designed for researching the aerodynamic configuration of a converted vertical take-off and landing AV with screw-ring propellers and operating power unit simulators.
