SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, instrumentation, construction industry and is intended for the purification of industrial and domestic wastewater from suspended solids. The adjustable hydrocyclone contains a cylindrical-conical body with a screw channel, a pressure chamber and a piston in the area of the screw channel, a tangential inlet pipe for contaminated water, a purified water outlet pipe and a sludge outlet pipe, as well as a piston movement mechanism. The housing of the adjustable hydrocyclone includes a housing of screw channels 3. The branch pipe of the purified water outlet 12 is located coaxially to the body and passes through the piston 11, on which screw channels are formed creating a single screw path with channels on the body of the screw channels 3. To the branch pipe of the sludge outlet 16, the body 21 of the regulator of the passage section of the sludge outlet pipe is attached with an elastic cuff 23, made with the possibility of regulating the passage section of the sludge outlet pipe 16. On the lower part of the purified water outlet 12, under the piston, there is a screw auger 2 with the direction of turns coinciding with the screw channel of the piston. The piston movement mechanism is made in the form of a rack-and-pinion or worm gear and is connected by a system of hydraulic cylinders with the elastic cuff 23 of the housing 21 of the regulator of the flow section of the sludge outlet pipe. The outer diameter of the screw turns decreases from the upper turn to the lower one. A reflector 13 is located on the lower section of the purified water outlet 12.

EFFECT: adjustable hydrocyclone makes it possible to improve the quality of wastewater treatment from suspended pollutants at various costs and concentrations of pollutants.
