The apparatus for storing paper sheets constitutes an apparatus for storing paper sheets, installed in an apparatus for processing paper sheets with a storage function for receiving paper sheets transported thereto and preserve paper sheets in the apparatus for storing paper sheets and/or a issuing function for issuing paper sheets stored in the apparatus for storing paper sheets. The apparatus for storing paper sheets includes a memory unit wherein specified information is stored, updated in accordance with preservation or issuance of paper sheets.

EFFECT: claimed solution is aimed at solving the problem consisting in providing the possibility of technical maintenance of the circulation-type banknote storage unit immediately after making a decision on the necessity to perform technical maintenance of the circulation-type banknote storage unit based on specified information.
