FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and is used in transformer plants. For a small complexity, one converter (4) or (5) is used, connected to the test buses (2) by means of a switch (6) or (7), and to the network by means of a switch (8) or (9) by a command from the control unit (16). For complex dynamic testing, such as the use of resonance on buses (2), testing with a tap changer (load tap changing), one converter (4) or (5) is used in the active mode, wherein switches (6, 7) and (8) or (9) are activated. The second converter (5) or (4) is therein in the passive mode. Activation of the second converter is blocked due to the cross-activation of the auxiliary contacts (12, 13). The converters are made according to the rectifier-capacitor-voltage inverter configuration. During the above types of testing, large current surges may occur in the load, passing through the diodes of the inverter and leading to an excessive increase in the voltage on the capacitors, potentially leading to damage therein. But the presence of a second converter connected by the output in parallel reduces the amount of overvoltage by 2 times.
EFFECT: developed method for testing transformers and reactors.
