FIELD: treatment of water.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of protecting the surfaces of elements of centralised heat supply systems and can be used for treating firefighting and drinking water used as "makeup" water for the purpose of improving the operational properties thereof. The composition for treating makeup water in centralised heat supply systems comprises calcium dihydrophosphate, sodium metaphosphate by the general formula (NaPO3)n, wherein n≥1, copper (II) oxide, and zinc oxide at the claimed ratio of the initial components.
EFFECT: invention provides effective comprehensive protection of the surfaces of elements of centralised heat supply systems from salt deposition (scaling) from makeup water, from corrosion of metal surfaces, and prevents formation of biofouling.
