FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular to the chemical-thermal treatment of metals and alloys, and can be used for surface hardening of parts of machinery and equipment operating under friction at high contact loads and with a lack of lubrication. The composition of the bath for sulfocyanation of products made of structural and tool steels contains components in the following ratio, wt.%: (NH2)2CO - 30-32, Na2CO3 - 28-30, Na2S - 2-5, sodium chloride NaCl - 6, calcium chloride CaCl2 - 6, barium chloride BaCl2 - 8, sodium hydroxide NaOH - the rest.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the rate of sulfocyanation and the ability to process parts of any size and shape, as well as an increase in the environmental safety of the sulfocyanation process.
