FIELD: metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to carbonitriding parts from structural and tool steels. Paste is made by mixing the components, then the paste is applied on the article and it is heated and held at the temperature of 450-850 °C for 1-3 hours, cooled in oil and subject to low-temperature tempering at the temperature of 150-180 °C for 1-2 hours. For the paste making components are used with the following ratio, wt. %: ferricyanic potassium K4Fe(CN)6 - 20-30, carbamide (NH2)2CO - 15-20, NC 222 nitrocellulose lacquer - 15-30, DG-100 carbon black - the rest.
EFFECT: during carbonitriding higher speed is provided as well as wider temperature range, together with higher environmental safety.
