FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing indancarbaldehyde, which can be used as initial material for the production of various chemical initial materials, flavoring substances, drugs, agrochemical preparations, optical and electronic functional materials. The method includes a stage of reaction interaction of indane with carbon monoxide in the presence of hydrogen fluoride and boron trifluoride to produce reaction liquid containing indancarbaldehyde. In the proposed method, indane contains benzylamine and the benzylamine content is less than 1000 million-1 by weight, the partial pressure of carbon monoxide is from 0.5 to 5 MPa, the amount of boron trifluoride used in the indane formylation reaction is from 1.0 mol to 3.5 mol, and the indane formylation reaction is performed at a temperature in the range from -50°C to 30°C.
EFFECT: in the proposed method, the degradation of indancarbaldehyde is suppressed, and indancarbaldehyde, hydrogen fluoride and boron trifluoride can be extracted at a high yield from the solution of the indancarbaldehyde-hydrogen fluoride-boron trifluoride complex.
