FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: catalyst composition for polymerisation of conjugated dienes contains: (a) a metal-containing compound, wherein said metal is selected from a group consisting of transition metals and lanthanides; (b) N-heterocyclic carbene; (c) an alkylating agent; and optionally (d) a halogen-containing compound which includes one or more active halogen atoms, provided that the halogen-containing compound is present if neither the metal-containing compound nor the alkylating agent does not contain an active halogen atom. Said carbene includes N-heteocyclic carbene of formula or , where R1 and R2 are selected from a group consisting of C1-C12 alkyl, C2-C12 alkenyl, C2-C12 alkynyl, phenyl, alkyl-substituted phenyl and mixtures thereof, and all can be identical or all can be selected separately but cannot be H; R3 and R4 are selected from a group consisting of H, C1-C12 alkyl, C2-C12 alkenyl, C2-C12 alkynyl, phenyl, alkyl-substituted phenyl, and mixtures thereof and all can be identical or all can be selected separately. Also disclosed is a method of producing polydienes, which involves reacting a conjugated diene in the presence of a polymerisation catalyst composition.
EFFECT: obtaining high-molecular weight cis-1,4-polydienes with high content of cis-1,4 groups.
