SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a threaded connection for steel pipes, providing a high tensioning torque, high tensile resistance, and high tightness. The threaded connection 1 comprises a tubular nipple 10 containing a nipple stop 12, an outer thread 11, and a nipple seal 13; and a tubular coupling 20 containing a coupling stop 22, an inner thread 21, and a coupling seal 23. The outer thread 11 and the inner thread 21 are made in the form of a wedge-shaped thread. The nipple seal 13 is provided between the nipple stop 12 and the outer thread 11. The coupling seal 23 matches the nipple seal 13 and is provided on the inner peripheral surface of the coupling 20. When the connection is screwed together, the nipple stop 12 is located at a distance from the coupling stop 22. The threaded connection 1 satisfies the following expression, (1): 3%≤(LP-SP)/LP≤7% (1). In the expression (1), LP represents the pitch between the support sides 111 of the outer thread 11, and SP represents the pitch between the embedded sides 112 of the outer thread 11.
EFFECT: creation of an improved threaded connection for steel pipes.
