SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of data transmission. The device is configured to send a request message to a DNS server on which records are stored, each of which contains a streaming identifier of the first type assigned to the streaming, and a different streaming identifier of the second type assigned to the corresponding streaming, and an indication of the provided type that is used or, accordingly, is used exclusively for this type of records, while the request message contains at least one streaming identifier of the first type that is known to the device, and the provided type, to receive a response message from the DNS server that contains a streaming identifier of the second type related to streaming, and to use the received streaming identifier of the second type to connect to the corresponding streaming.
EFFECT: enabling the organization of streaming on the network, which does not require manual control of the streaming identifiers used in the control plane.
