FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the fields of animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, and ecology, and can be used as an intravital non-invasive test for estimating the content of copper in the liver of sheep. The method for determining the concentration of copper in the liver of sheep includes analysis of a substrate in the form of blood serum. The concentration of the testosterone or estradiol hormone is therein determined in the blood serum. The regression equations are then calculated: y=0.361x+1.05, wherein y is the content of Cu, mg/kg, in the liver, x is the content of testosterone in the blood serum, nmol/l, or y=0.230x+0.79, wherein y is the content of Cu (mg/kg) in the liver, x is the content of estradiol in the blood serum, pmol/l.
EFFECT: invention provides sufficient accuracy of intravital determination of copper in the liver of sheep.
