FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the drilling of oil and gas wells, in particular to drilling fluids. A borehole drilling method includes pumping oily borehole fluid into the borehole. Oily borehole fluid contains: an oily dispersion medium; a non-oily dispersed phase; an emulsifier stabilizing the non-oily dispersed phase in the oily dispersion medium; organophilic clay; a weighting agent; and a wetting agent. The wetting agent has GLB in the range from 4 to 10.5, which is selected so that oily borehole fluid has a scale reading at 600 rpm at 4°C (40°F) less than approximately 300 and a 10-minute limit static shear stress of less than approximately 19.15 Pa (40 lbf/100 ft2). Options of oily borehole fluid are claimed.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of drilling horizontal wells due to reducing particle sedimentation in drilling fluid and increasing the stability of the emulsion.
