FIELD: chemical or physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a melt-molded composition of a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl alcohol. Composition contains: copolymer of ethylene and vinyl alcohol, an alkali metal compound in amount of 1–1,000 ppm in terms of metal based on the weight of the composition and an iron compound in amount of 0.01–20 ppm in terms of metal based on the weight of the composition. Weight ratio of the alkali metal compound to the iron compound, in terms of metal, ranges from 10 to 100,000.
EFFECT: viscosity of the molded ethylene and vinyl alcohol copolymer composition decreases with time during molding from the melt, which gives it excellent long-term molding ability.
