FIELD: cleaning equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for cleaning a surface, such as a robot vacuum cleaner (vacuum cleaner) or a nozzle for a container or an upright vacuum cleaner. In the case of a nozzle, the invention also relates to a vacuum cleaner provided with a nozzle. A surface cleaning device comprising a wet cleaning unit (WCU) having a wetting unit (WP) and a brush unit (BU) for brushing a surface wetted with a wetting unit (WP), a brush unit (BU) having a plurality of brush elements (BE) (e.g. bristles) at an angle of at least 45°, preferably at least 70°, to the surface to be cleaned, and a drive unit for driving the brush in a plane extending at an angle of at most 45 degrees, preferably at most 20 degrees, to said surface. The brush unit (BU) preferably comprises a plurality of rotating brushes (B) having an axis of rotation extending at an angle of at least 45°, preferably at least 70°, to the surface to be cleaned, with at least 50% of the area defined by the circumference of each brush (B), equipped with brush elements (BE). Adjoining brushes (B) preferably have opposite directions of rotation. The brushes (B) preferably comprise gear-shaped elements (G). The drive unit is preferably configured to move the brush (B) in translation relative to the surface cleaner. The wet cleaning unit preferably further comprises a drying pad (DP), the brush unit (BU) being located between the wetting unit (WP) and the drying pad (DP). Preferably, the surface cleaner further comprises an air inlet (N) located in front of the wet cleaning unit (WCU) in the direction of movement of the surface cleaner.
