FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of engine building, in particular to two-stroke internal combustion engines (ICE). The internal combustion engine consists of two working cylinders (1.1, 1.2) with pistons (2.1, 2.2), an auxiliary cylinder (3) with a piston (4) installed between the working cylinders (1.1, 1.2), and a crankshaft (5) with connecting rod journals of the working (1.1, 1.2) and auxiliary (3) cylinders. The working pistons (2.1, 2.2) are installed at the same level, and the connecting rod journal of the crankshaft (5) of the slave cylinder (3) is offset by 180° relative to the connecting rod journal of the working cylinders (1.1, 1.2). The auxiliary cylinder (3) is additionally equipped with an inlet valve (6) and bypass channels (10.1, 10.2) made in the cylinder head (9) with closing adjustable valves (7.1, 7.2) on the side of the working cylinders (1.1, 1.2). The mass of the connecting rod-piston group of the auxiliary cylinder (3) corresponds to the sum of the masses of the connecting rod-piston groups of the first and second working cylinders (1.1, 1.2) mac = mwc1 + mwc2, where mac is the mass of the connecting rod-piston group of the auxiliary cylinder; mwc1, mwc2 are the masses of the connecting rod-piston groups of the first and second working cylinders, respectively.
EFFECT: increasing engine efficiency.
