SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an imaging device that forms an image on a recording material. The imaging device includes an optical module, a housing having an outlet, a cover provided downstream from the optical module in the direction of the outlet in which the recording material is released through the outlet, and the forming part of the housing, and a circuit board. The circuit board includes a plurality of electronic components and a mounting card configured to electrically connect the plurality of electronic components, and the circuit board is placed in such a direction that the surface of the mounting card on which the plurality of electronic components are installed intersects the direction of release, and the mounting card is located between the cover and the optical module in the direction of release, and thus, when viewed in the vertical direction, the optical module and the plurality of electronic components partially overlap each other.

EFFECT: invention provides a reduction in the size of the imaging device.
