FIELD: aviation; aerodrome equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an airport runway fire for use as an approach runway light to a runway lighting system. Runway light has a fire body with a base, the configuration of which provides the support for the runway fire in the corresponding lighting socket of the corresponding system of the light signaling equipment of the runway. Base includes an electrical connection intended for electrical connection of the runway light to the corresponding system of the runway lighting equipment. Fire additionally includes one or more exit windows. Runway fire has a high-efficiency source of infrared radiation and one or more reflectors of infrared radiation for directing from the source of infrared radiation outside through said one or more exit windows. Infrared radiation source has a silicon nitride element. Infrared radiation source generates infrared radiation in significant amounts and in fact undetectable visible light with much lower power consumption.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
