FIELD: antenna equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method of exciting a resonant microstrip antenna (MSA) consists in the fact that the main mode is excited by means of an asymmetric slot made in a radiating plate. Slot is directed to the center of the radiating plate and is excited by the short-circuited probe rod. Central conductor of a coaxial or strip line, which is connected to one side of the slot, is used as a probe rod. Resonant MSA (versions) comprises a radiating metal plate placed on a dielectric layer bounded from below by a metal screen of dimensions larger than that of the radiating plate. Radiating plate can be of different shape (round, rectangular, other). In the plate there is a slot, which is open on the side of the edge of the radiating plate, to which a coaxial line is laid from the screen of the microstrip antenna through the center of the antenna and along the radiating plate and galvanically connected to the screen and the radiating plate. Central conductor of the coaxial line crosses the groove and is galvanically connected to one side of the groove. Screen of the coaxial line is galvanically connected to the opposite side of the slot.
EFFECT: achieving a symmetrical, undistorted directivity pattern (DP) in the main planes of the resonant MSA, improving its polarization characteristics, and improving manufacturability.
