FIELD: chemistry; hydrogen extraction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the extraction of hydrogen from an underground reservoir. A method for extracting hydrogen from a geothermal reservoir containing water includes following stages: providing the possibility of at least one of gasification or conversion reactions of water gas in the water inside the geothermal reservoir to form a gas stream containing hydrogen; providing a well from the surface to the geothermal reservoir; placing at least one hydrogen-permeable membrane consisting of a palladium alloy in the well; providing the possibility of contact of the gas stream with at least one hydrogen-permeable membrane. At least one hydrogen-permeable membrane provides the possibility of passing only hydrogen to the surface in a gas stream. The stage of extracting hydrogen to the surface includes the transfer of hydrogen in working fluid circulating in the well. Working fluid is heated when passed through the well near the geothermal reservoir to obtain heated working fluid. The method additionally includes a stage of using heated working fluid as a heat source or energy source when extracting to the surface.
EFFECT: hydrogen extraction with simultaneous use as a heat source or energy source, when extracting to the surface of fluid circulating in the well.
