FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a heat-treated article with a coating and a method for its manufacture, which can be used in the manufacture of a shower cabin window, a glazed door of a bathroom or a shower cabin, furniture glass, glass for a picture frame or other monolithic window. Article with a coating on a glass substrate is provided. Coating contains a layer based on substoichiometric zirconium oxide ZrOx, wherein x ranges from 1.50 to 1.97. Heat treatment of the article with said coating is carried out to increase the visible light transmission of the coated article by at least 4 % and converting the layer based on substoichiometric zirconium oxide ZrOx into a layer based on substantially stoichiometric ZrOx, wherein x ranges from 1.98 to 2.05. Obtained product has a turbidity value of not more than 0.3 %. In another version of the method of making the article, the heat treatment of the article with said coating is carried out at a temperature of at least 580 °C. After heat treatment, the layer containing essentially stoichiometric zirconium oxide ZrOxhas a refraction index of at least 2.21, and the coated article has visible light transmission of at least 75 %. Obtained layer based on essentially stoichiometric zirconium oxide ZrOx is the uppermost coating layer and is exposed to the ambient atmosphere.
EFFECT: obtaining articles with a coating which ensures reduction or elimination of "blue haze" associated with the appearance of microcracks, without significant reduction in the resistance of the coated article to scratches.
