FIELD: beekeeping.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to beekeeping, in particular, to methods for keeping bees in the wild without interfering in the biological process of the life of a bee. The method for wintering bees in the wild consists in placing hives with bees under a translucent heat-insulating shell. The translucent heat-insulating shell is made in the form of a box put on the hive, with a uniform heat gap relative to each of the walls of the hive covered thereby. A cover is placed on the upper side of the box, the bottom thereof is made hollow, and the upper and lower entrances of the hive are connected with the outer space of the shell. Cover plates are therein placed on the upper and lower entrances of the hive, containing slots corresponding to the sizes of the entrances of the hive, and the heat gap between the hive and the hood is equal to the thickness of the installed cover plates.
EFFECT: invention provides a possibility of levelling the temperature gradient around the hive and in the hive, and also provides a possibility for bees that have flown out of the hive into the natural atmospheric environment during inspection of returning to the hive directly through the entrances.
