FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication and navigation systems. Communication and navigation system for controlling traffic, wherein onboard transceiver modules intended for transmitting a location signal containing identification, navigation and control information allowing for remote non-ambiguous identification of a vehicle, determination of the location and the trajectory parameters thereof in order to identify threats to the security of other road users, as well as collection and decoding of location signals of all vehicles located in the radio communication area and equipped with CNS modules. Traffic control centres based on a network of stationary transceiver CNS modules, spatially distributed over the area of responsibility, are configured to generate positional signals forming a local positioning system using trilateration methods. Information is transmitted from each vehicle to everyone in the reliable reception area at one frequency in the radio frequency range allocated for location signals, compact encoding of identification, navigation and control information provides a short duration of the location signal in the microsecond range, the interval between the location signals of one vehicle in the range of units or fractions of gigahertz is selected based on the rate of change in the operational conditions.
EFFECT: prompt control of traffic is achieved.
