METHOD FOR COOLING THE SYSTEM OF A SPACE OBJECT OPERATING IN A VACUUM WHEN MODELING THE CONDITIONS OF REGULAR OPERATION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC B64G7/00

Abstract RU 2771263 C1

FIELD: testing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of testing technology, in particular to ground-based thermal vacuum tests of space objects. The method for cooling the system of a space object operating in vacuum, when modeling the conditions of regular operation, consists in installing the system under test in a vacuum chamber, vacuuming the vacuum chamber and cooling the system under test. Liquid nitrogen is fed into the cryo-screen cavity. Liquid nitrogen is supplied with a flow rate that provides a gaseous nitrogen phase at the outlet of the cryo-screen. When a quasi-stationary state is reached, the maximum amount of liquid nitrogen consumption is determined by the cryo-screen temperature close to the boiling point of liquid nitrogen. The supply of liquid nitrogen is reduced. When the permissible maximum temperature of the cryo-screen is reached, the minimum amount of liquid nitrogen consumption is determined. A range from the maximum to the minimum amount of liquid nitrogen consumption during the operation of the system under test is maintained.

EFFECT: reduction in the total test time is achieved.
