FIELD: image data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of image recognition, namely to technology for detecting and classifying objects in images. The method includes the stages of obtaining sets of full-scale images of N>2 objects and three-dimensional models of objects, creating N initial sets of images of objects using a computing system, wherein each image from the initial set of images is the result of rendering a three-dimensional model of the object, creating an augmented set of images of each object by introducing at least one change to each image from the initial set of images and the set of full-scale images of the corresponding object, creating training data samples containing multiple images selected from the augmented sets of images of objects, training a convolutional neural network using the corresponding training data samples, and applying the trained convolutional neural network to the examined image in order to detect and classify the objects depicted therein.
EFFECT: increase in the probability of detecting and classifying objects in images of various types, including images of the visible range, UHF range, and IR range.
