FIELD: document making.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to document (1) and a method for its making. Document (1) includes base substrate (2) and a decorative layer, wherein single- or multilayer base substrate (2) has upper side and lower side (5), and the decorative layer is applied to upper side (4) of base substrate (2), and at least one layer of base substrate (2) is laser-perforated in one or many of first areas (10) in such a way that decorative layer (3) is visible in one or many of first areas (10), when viewing document (1) from lower side (5) of base substrate (2). In this case, at least one layer of base substrate (2) in one or many of the second areas is laser-perforated in such a way that the decorative layer in one or many of the second areas is visible, when viewing document (1) from lower side (5) of base substrate (2). One or many of the second areas have pattern (10), different from one or many of the first areas, and/or a different contour, and/or different encoding. Moreover, decorative layer (3), when viewed perpendicular to a plane extended along base substrate (2), completely covers one or many of first (10) and/or second areas. Document (1), in areas containing decorative layer (3), creates the first visual effect, which in the reflected light can be visible by a sensor unit. The method for making a document includes following stages: obtaining base substrate (2); applying decorative layer (3) to upper side (4) of base substrate (2); perforating at least one layer of base substrate (2) in one or many of first areas (10) with a laser so that the applied decorative layer is visible in one or many of first areas (10), when viewing document (1) from the lower side of base substrate (2).
